“Wherever you turn, you can find someone who needs you. Even if it is a little thing, do something for which there is no pay but the privilege of doing it. Remember, you don’t live in the world all of your own.”

“Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
~Elizabeth Andrew
“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”

“You may not have saved a lot of money in your life, but if you have saved a lot of heartaches for other folks, you are a pretty rich man.” (or woman)
~Seth Parker
“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.”
~Oscar Wilde
Are you looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity? Would you like to contribute your time and good will to help people facing physical, mental, or emotional challenges? Would you like to help the horses who work with our Horse Power students?
If so, we’d love to talk to you! We can always use more helping hands, and horse experience is not necessary. (But if you’ve got horse experience, that’s great too.)
Here are examples of ways that volunteers contribute to Touchstone Farm:
- Becoming a leader or sidewalker in Horse Power therapeutic riding or driving classes
- Help to groom and tack/untack horses for lessons and keeping tack clean and ready to use
- Provide individual TLC for a horse by becoming a “Barn Buddy”
- Help keep the gardens looking beautiful
- Repair fence, paint some worn spots, rake the grounds, help construct animal enclosures
- Help in the office and assist in fundraising activities
